fun is not equal to rewards. Remember fun?

Yes, but when fun and rewards go hand in hand, you made the equivalent of liquid acid in GW.

It would be cool to have a HM version that's pretty tough, yet fun, with the addition of a decent reward. First time I did it on my ele I had fun, had to try like 3 times but eventually beat it, when I redid it on my ssin, I had the feeling I might as well go watch a movie and let my heroes do it..

Not sure about the difficulty suggestion since I haven't done it in a while, but making it repeatable and adding some war supplies as a reward would be cool.

The only thing they had to do to fix the original to make it more 'casual' friendly was fix the wave pacing between Isaiah -> Perfected Armor and adjust Jade Cloak AR ratings.

Instead what they did was utterly gut wave composition, particularly Ambrillus/Talios, to pathetic numbers considering it's the last group in a major decisive battle. That wasn't even the most lethal group in the mission because unlike the others they wait a long time to move to the Keep.

It also can't be overstated how much easier a normal mode clear would be now that you could run 5 heroes instead of 3/2.

They've taken this into account for the WoC content, apparently, so I wouldn't be surprised if they updated the end of WiK to be similar when WoC releases.

I have been doing it for "fun" as it is. Working through it on my 8th time, secure in the knowledge that I will open yet another pile of gifts that will contain crap worth less than what Nick in pre gives out daily for farming level 3 trash.

Trouble is, in GW the trend seems to be to NOT be rewarded for the "fun" stuff, and gain far more by spending the same time grinding some repeatable gimmick quest.

Hearts of the North garbage for instance.

Well I just got a Deldrimor Armor Remnant from one of the gifts doing the pre (Paper Wrapped Parcel), that was pretty nice.

Leave it as it is now for when people actually play through WiK. Despite people on here going "oh BFLA was soooo eeeaaasy before", the majority of players disagreed with that - Anet did that survey asking everyone what they thought about it, remember? The opinions of a handful of hardcore vets is not the opinion of the vast majority of players.

However, I wouldn't mind it having a repeatable version that is more difficult.

The only reason why WiK was hard before was because we could only use 4 heroes and level 10 henchmen.

Now that we can use 6 heroes, and even in full player groups, it is too easy.

Even if it got dumbed down because lots of people wanted that to happen, they seriously overdid it. The final quest at the end of the game after completing a whole campaign and rhen doing elite end game content shouldnt be as easy as it is now. Its nowhere near as fun, and the previous difficulty was actually very enjoyable.

If people found it too hard then that is a good thing because it helps them to learn to improve their playstyle and builds, and to try and put a good group together, which is easy enough to do now with full hero parties.

An option you still have. Why do some people want ANet to impose difficulty upon the entire game community that they are unwilling to voluntarily impose upon themselves?

It seems silly to me that people will avail themselves of every opportunity to make the game easier.. and then complain about that ease.

A new HM quest would be fun, but as with Galrath, odds are one of the first posts regarding any new HM quest will be from someone complaining about how easy it was.

The part I really liked about the old BFLA was the fact you had to find a group of real people to do it and even then with meta pve builds it was still somewhat difficult.

No it shouldn't be added it felt more like a true storyline and should only be done once per char. I can still see it in my head people are farming it all day long.

WoC is the only thing I'm waiting for right now I don't even wanna do BFLA.

Can't say I had to.

/signed, loved this the first time around, never done it again so haven't experienced the "nerfed" version.

What is there to farm exactly? I've done this on 7 characters, tagged along with multiple guildies even some PuGs because I liked it so much and have never seen anything of value drop. In fact I've never even heard anecdotal evidence of one of the greens dropping during this.

It's good to have a quest or two in the game that WRECKS players on a regular basis.

It'd be great if TBFLA was still such a quest.

It wrecked me like 4 times, and then me and a couple friends got into a zone and owned it up. Was pleasing to be like "THAT'S RITE I WIN!!!" afterwards.

Now? It's just another pack of red dots like everything else.

It's a battle to defend Lion's freaking Arch. It should be epic, not just another pack of red dots.

Oh, you know, the uber-elite, face-roll, "PvE is a joke" people will complain about how easy it is to AFK with heroes in HM and farm mursaat tokens or something...

Challenge is what you make it. I did it with 3 heroes with my assassin with SF and Wastrels before they changed it. Did pop a conset, but no deaths after that, never had any panic moments so... Making it harder is best saved for something like hard mode as was said earlier. Can't please some people honestly. If you think using a conset is cheap but don't think WiK is challenging enough why not go vanilla armor or some other silly restriction. I think some people are also wearing their nostalgia glasses.

It's still easier in hm than it used to be in nm.

War in Kryta got boring already. I'm hoping Anet would release Winds of Change like now instead of concentrating on making the Dervish much more complicated and confusing with all those skill updates.
